Maurice Daubard

Immersion in ice

Maurice DAUBARD reste immergé 55 minutes dans un bac rempli de glace pilée.

On 14 January 1995 in Moulins in the Allier
Maurice DAUBARD remained immersed for 55 minutes in a vat filled with crushed ice!
His body temperature dropped to 35 degrees…
Yet he suffered no skin lesions, no burns, his extremities did not freeze.
He was then 64 years old.
This feat was achieved simply by the benefits of yoga techniques, based on relaxation, breathing and mentalization (the power of positive thinking)

What they said about Maurice DAUBARD…

Doctor Michel BOUJARD
Psychoanalyst in Paris

(was part of the medical team during the ice immersion on 14 January 1995)
” The hold of the mind over the body is undeniable. Mauice DAUBARD is living proof of this, and today he gives a new demonstration of it. ” (La Montagne newspaper)

Doctor Alain Breant
General practitioner in Moulins

(was part of the medical team during the immersion in the ice on 14 January 1995)
” The feat that Maurice DAUBARD achieved by remaining in a cube of ice is possible because he possesses two exceptional qualities: remarkable training that he has followed for many years by practising yoga at altitude and a very strong motivation that enables him to concentrate all his mental energy during the ordeal he is undergoing. ” (Encyclopédie médico-chirurgicale pour la science / January 1995)

Gérard BITTEL
Chief Medical Officer of the SRSAA

“I know Maurice DAUBARD from having examined and observed him. I have found nothing exceptional in him, medically speaking, other than his will power and his control”.

Madame Arlette MAZLIATH
Director of the Artimont in Geneva

(where Maurice DAUBARD came to give yoga classes for 10 years)
“Maurice DAUBARD lives what he teaches and teaches what he lives.”

Martine Riou
Nurse, yogatherapist and health educator

(was part of the medical team during the ice immersion on 14 January 1995)
“Maurice DAUBARD is a fascinating and passionate being. He is tough, uncompromising, loving perfection with himself. To others, he is gentle, understanding.
The man from ” Pirolin ” is the gardener of the souls who confide in him”.

Patrick Daubard
Tummo Yoga Teacher

“Slipping into Maurice Daubard’s world is more than just entering a man’s life – it’s an upheaval, a revolution, the beginning of a journey of learning that leads to self-knowledge, the true ‘self’, the purity of our being, as the Tibetans would say. It’s being at the heart of the matter in every sense of the word! Maurice Daubard is first and foremost about actions, actions that go beyond the usual understanding of human beings (even certain scientists), sporting and physiological actions, but above all acts of faith, a faith that transports, overflowing with enthusiasm, leading to exaltation, a contagious faith that helps us discover the best in ourselves: our ability to turn towards others”.

Fernand JORDAN
Mountain guide / Trainer of ski competitors / Manager of the “Les Giettes” sports centre, Switzerland (where M.D. organised yoga and cross-country skiing courses for some thirty years)

“In his classes, there were psychiatrists, surgeons, priests, pastors, top industrialists, an astrologer from Marseille, a Swede who had launched Swedish skiing, whose exploits I had read about and who was already 84 years old, workers, street sweepers, the physically and mentally handicapped… All these people were in close communication with each other. I was amazed at the mix of these different social backgrounds. He managed to unite them in yoga, a technique that came from India, so from the other side of the world. I observed everything, but I couldn’t express myself to Maurice because I was too astonished and ignorant of yoga. I was very impressed by his classes.

“Through his education, he developed people’s physique, because often the trainees had psychological, mental and nervous problems. After two or three days, people left completely relaxed and happy with life. I’m certain and I affirm that with his spiritual and moral method, he saved more than one human being who was doomed to commit suicide” (see “Testimonials” section).

Daniel GUERBOIS
Record-breaking runner (hour record for the blind)
President of the Handisport Allier association / Councillor for Moulins town council

“I have absolute confidence in Maurice Daubard, and I know that if I call him, he’ll go out of his way to help me. In fact, you saw why he made the ice cube on 14 January 1995!

“You have to be frank and grateful to those who deserve it. A person who helps you, who takes you into their family, who gives you money, a job, who teaches you everything they know to make you happy and independent, that person deserves respect and recognition” (see the “Testimonials” section)”.
