“Being strong means being able to adapt! Today, we are totally dependent on the comforts offered to us by society. So we need to awaken the adaptive resources that lie dormant within us. And it is through true contact with nature that we will achieve this.” Patrick Daubard
Tummo is a practice of Tibetan origin which consists in creating and developing an intense heat inside the body.
Tummo yoga is the awakening of inner fire, the awakening of the inner strength that enables us to adapt to adverse external conditions and, by extension, to adapt to life’s circumstances.
Why choose IMD? Tradition (+ than 40 years of experience), Expertise, Scientific Approach…
Regular, voluntary, and progressive cold immersion, within a structured framework, allows you to explore the body’s natural adaptive capacities.
It promotes:
– improved body awareness
– increased vitality and presence
– mobilization of internal resources to cope with stress
– a sense of mental clarity
– development of emotional stability
– an increased ability to cope with uncomfortable situations
– a strengthened sense of confidence and commitment.
For over forty years, the Maurice Daubard Institute has been teaching this discipline of voluntary adaptation to the natural elements, combining meditation, breathing exercises, and progressive cold immersion.
This practice is rooted in a tradition of inner exploration and developing the body’s and mind’s adaptive capacities.
Structured with rigor and gradual progression, it offers a conscious experience of cold in a safe environment that respects each individual’s pace.
This discipline is neither a medical treatment nor a therapy. In case of illness or doubt, consulting your doctor is essential.
A specialist in Tummo Yoga (Western), Patrick Daubard led workshops in the Italian Alps for over a decade, in close collaboration with Maurice Daubard, and now directs the Maurice Daubard Institute, which he co-founded.
Exposure to the cold stimulates the body’s natural defences and allows us to (re)discover qualities and values within ourselves that were ignored until now.
It’s a demanding, personalised course based on experience, discussion and observation. The most important thing will be your state of mind.
This discipline is neither a medical treatment nor a therapy. In case of illness or doubt, consulting your doctor is essential.
